At this early stage of the year, we are delighted to offer you our new service of Consulting Express Pre-Survey Inspection. Choose our Consulting Express Pre-Survey Inspection if you want someone to view the yacht for you.
If you are not able to get to a boat BruMed Marine Surveyors can look at a boat to give you an indication of condition as a quick pre-survey inspection.
This is useful if you are not local to the boat, or are interested in buying a boat you have found in Mallorca (Balearic Islands) when you live abroad. This service is a cost effective way of getting an independent set of eyes to report on the general condition. The report will provide you with a series of independently taken pictures by a marine professional along with an outline description of the vessel. It will highlight obvious faults and report on the general state of the vessel.
It does not take away the need for a pre-purchase survey, which covers structural and safety issues but will be useful if you are unable to attend the vessel yourself or you want a quick second opinion before proceeding.
What does the C.E.P. involve?
Basically, it’s a general summary of the condition of the vessel for the interested parties. It’s a quick inspection of the general condition in order to find out if the yacht fulfills the main requirements expected by the future owner. Through our Consulting Express Pre-Survey Inspection, the interested parties will be able to take a decision at a low cost, if the vessel worth the money.

-Our C.E.P. allows huge savings in marine survey costs, because if the vessel don’t much with the expected condition of the future owner, we won’t proceed to perform a full pre-purchase survey report.
- The cost of C.E.P. will be deduct of the cost of full pre-purchase survey, if the future owner decides to perform it in the nearly future.
Scope?
C.E.P. scope report is limited to evidence of structural damages, serious lack of maintenance in hull, deck, engines, accommodation areas, or rigging, showing a big picture of the historical maintenance of the vessel, and her present condition.
Cost ?
The cost of the C.E.P. report is around 50% lower than full pre-purchase survey.

El yate que embarrancó en Formentera, reparando en STP-Palma.

A principios de esta semana, y tras ser reflotado en Formentera, el yate “Royal Enterprise” fue remolcado hasta Palma de Mallorca, para ser varado en las instalaciones de STP Palma.
Al haber quedado varado sobre el costado de babor, los daños de la obra viva se centran en esa zona donde se tienen que cambiar varios paños de chapa del forro del casco, y sus refuerzos interiores.

Debido al mal tiempo, y a otras circunstancias, el reflotamiento del yate se demoró más de lo estrictamente necesario, hasta finalmente ser remolcado hasta Mallorca. En la reparación intervienen, entre otros, Astilleros de Mallorca, S.A. los cuales garantizan el éxito de la reparación.
Los daños de la embarcación , al haber varado sobre fondo blando, son de menor magnitud que los daños que se hubieran producido si la varada hubiera sido sobre fondo rocoso.

El gobierno español regula el seguro de R.C. para buques.

Afecta a buques civiles españoles o extranjeros que toquen puerto español.
La norma, que da cumplimiento a la normativa europea sobre esta materia, atañe tanto a buques mercantes, como pesqueros y de recreo, afecta a buques civiles españoles o extranjeros que toquen puerto español con un arqueo igual o superior a 300 toneladas
El Consejo de Ministros aprobó el 11 de noviembre el Real Decreto por el que se establece y regula el seguro de responsabilidad civil o garantía financiera equivalente, del que deben disponer los propietarios de los buques civiles españoles o extranjeros, que toquen puerto español, con un arqueo igual o superior a 300 toneladas de registro bruto, para cubrir las reclamaciones de Derecho marítimo.
Con este Real Decreto se da cumplimiento a la Directiva 2009/20/CE, del Parlamento Europeo y del Consejo, de 23 de abril de 2009. que obliga a los Estados miembros de la Unión Europea a exigir este seguro a los propietarios de los buques civiles con las mencionadas características que enarbolen su pabellón o bien, enarbolando pabellón distinto del suyo, entren en un puerto bajo su jurisdicción o naveguen por el mar territorial.
La norma engloba tanto a los buques mercantes, como a los buques pesqueros y de recreo, siempre que su tonelaje esté comprendido en los límites citados anteriormente.
Los seguros, así como cualquier otra garantía financiera equivalente a los mismos, cubrirán las reclamaciones de Derecho marítimo sujetas a limitación, en los términos y por los importes establecidos en el Convenio de 1996 sobre limitación de la responsabilidad nacida de las reclamaciones de Derecho marítimo.

Yate de 35 m de eslora embarrancado en Formentera

El Yate “Royal Enterprise” de 35 metros de eslora embarrancó en Formentera tras fallar la línea de fondeo durante el temporal. Una vez más se repite lo que citábamos en nuestro artículo “Relación entre un fondeo inadecuado y un siniestro naval (Marzo-2010)“. Al estar en una zona medioambiental sensible, se está procediendo a la extracción de combustibles y aceites, y a la descontaminación urgente de la embarcación para evitar vertidos al mar. Tras ello, si hay tiempo y las condiciones meteorológicas lo permiten y el casco de la embarcación aguanta, se procederá al reflotamiento del yate para ser remolcado hasta un varadero en Ibiza.
